Gotta Love The Country!

This is one of our first roosters we got when when we first moved out here.  He is such an handsome guy. We also have 2 hens that are the same breed as him. They are Golden Laced Wyandottes and I just love them.  Them along with several of the others are some of our favorites.  In the forth chicken pic is the hen that Brent likes best.  She is a Buff Orpington hen.  We have 3 of them and she is the prettiest of them.

All the hens are on strike right now as the older ones are molting and not laying eggs right now.  We went from 10 or more daily to 2-6 daily.  Yesterday we got 2 hen eggs and 1 duck egg.  Oh well, we will just wait them out.  I am feeding them a little more protein daily to help them out some.

The ducks are getting a new house for the winter and a place for them to hopefully start laying their eggs when they start back. All that's left to do is Paint it tomorrow. They too are on strike from laying eggs. Here's hoping the 8 younger ones will start laying soon.

Don't think they like it yet?

BamBam Holsters sign is finished.  It now has a white background so that it is easier to see when coming down the road.

Well look who is up in the tree now trying to stalk me while I was feeling up a pool for the ducks.  The kitty's are growing up so much.  Trampas goes out and stalks and catches mice in the old garden.  Betsey stays around the barn most of the time and I hope is learning to find mice also.

Well, this is the second Tarantula that I have seen around here.  This one how ever decided to come up to the front door and who knows he may have even knocked on the door.  When i walked out the door that morning he was right by the door all curled up.  At first I thought he was dead until I pushed him with my shoe.  That's when he came to life and crawled towards me.  Kept trying to push him off the porch and he kept coming back.  Bad boy!  You don't belong on the front porch !

Until next week,
