Baby's are Coming !

We have baby's coming !  Saturday is the due date. Four were suppose to get nesting boxes yesterday, but when we came home on Sunday 2 of them had started pulling a little fur (Bella and Jasmine).   So they all got them then.  As soon as we put the boxes in the cages they quickly started putting straw in them.
You can see from the pic below that Duchess could have a big litter. The rest are not very skinny themselves.

Our flock of Chickens is going to be getting some new blood. We have the incubator going and we are hoping to get some new RIR hens and some Golden Laced Wyandotte hens for the flocks. They should be coming off next week sometime.

Never fells.  First ones in the coop every night are the 6 stooges.

We also have some of our young hens from last year that are starting to lay as you can see in one of the pics below. They are laying pint size eggs rights now.

We have been trying to keep the duck pond full and as you can see, they are already changing the shape of it. They sure do love it though.

Spring is still blooming outside and some inside.   I am still being surprised at the daffodils that are blooming outside. They are so pretty.

Until next week,

Duck Pond , Flowers , and Wide Open Spaces !

Well, that hole we dug last year that was suppose to be the duck pond. Fred and I got out there this past week and pulled the tumble weeds out of it and pulled up what we could of the tarp. It had a layer of mud on it also. After much talk and deciding , we just threw the water hose in it and started filling it up. Went and got some bread to get the ducks down there and the rest is history.

We know we will be having to add water to it since it is not all lined, but sooner or later we are hoping it will hold.  The ducks really love it and after they get their food in the morning they head right out there.  Fred likes it also and will scare them out to go swimming . So we have some work on our hands there.

The daffodils and spring flowers just keep getting prettier.  I planted several different packages last year and forgot what they looked like.  I was cutting some of them to bring in and some of them smelled like Cinnamon (bottom pic)

Being out here where we only have neighbors in front of us makes for some really great sunrise and sunset pictures.  This first one was a foggy morning with the sun just coming up. Does not get much better then that.  Then the sun setting our little duck pond.  I know it does not seem like much , but to our ducks it is a lake, lol.

Until next week,

A few extra pics for the week.

Silly Ducks , I thought they had stopped laying. Found this nest in the middle of the duck yard. There is about 18 or so in.

Just look at all the Pine Cone!

Look at who is at the controls?

Spring Is InThe Air ! :)

The yard is getting so green.  If this was our yard, lol.  This is part of the outside rabbit yard. Last year we planted Rye grass here and it seems to be coming up just fine. We are going to be planting deer plot over it also so that there will be a good stand of all of it.

We are dividing up the back part of the large chicken yard and we planted Alfalfa back here in hopes of getting a nice little plot of it growing back here.
After it is coming up good  , we will put some of the rabbits back here.  We still have some work to do on it. Putting wire down around the wooden fence and the ground and then some dirt on it to stop them from digging out.
Then getting the other fence put up so that we can start letting the chickens out here again on the other side. The chickens will be back here once we get the garden going in the front area where they are now.

That's a big print, It is Fred's
The chickens have really been liking all the green stuff that is coming up.  This morning when I went out to feed I put out the feed and gave them some bread and then the ducks took off.  Not really sure where they are right now.  They are roaming around somewhere on this 5 acres of land.

Spring is in the air. It is so wonderful to see all the yellows and the other colors.  Even all the greens against the blue sky is so pretty.  I can't wait to see all the flowers that come up this year.

Here is the finished koozie from last week along with some other that I made. Also some other BamBam Holster creations.

Until next week ,
